Branding & Marketing Design for Small Businesses: Affordable, Scalable, and Digital-First

A complete case study in market research, brand identity, logo design, and digital marketing strategy — creating a cost-effective online presence for small businesses through thoughtful design.

We-Ez Branding & Marketing Project

Role: Branding & Marketing Designer (Team Project) | Duration: 10–12 Days

Overview

We-Ez is a conceptual service-based company designed to provide affordable, one-page coded websites for small businesses. The project explored not just design, but also market research, branding, and marketing strategy.

My contributions included brand identity development, logo creation, marketing collateral, and packaging design.

Challenges & Solutions

Problem 1: Small businesses lack a digital presence

Solution: Conducted market research and created user personas to understand target needs. Designed simple, one-page websites that are cost-effective, easy to manage, and scalable.

Problem 2: Off-the-shelf website solutions are limiting and confusing

Solution: Created fully custom, easy-to-use one-page websites tailored to each business, avoiding restrictive templates and unnecessary costs. Clients get a professional, functional site without technical headaches.

Problem 3: Branding and marketing materials are inconsistent or missing

Solution: Created a complete brand identity including:

  • Logo with hidden symbolism (dots = web, smile = approachability, Es = code/screen)

  • Moodboard & color palette (Purple, Orange, Yellow)

  • Typography (clean, modern sans-serif)

  • Marketing assets (print + digital ads, social media banners, magazine spreads)

  • Packaging concepts (gift bag, mugs, boxes)

Problem 4: Businesses struggle to reach broader audiences online

Solution: Designed social media-ready assets and marketing collateral to help small businesses reach their target audiences effectively.

Process Highlights

  1. Market Research: Macro/micro analysis, SWOT & PESTE, user personas

  2. Branding: Company name, logo design, color palette, typography, moodboard

  3. Marketing Design: Print and digital ads, magazine spreads, banners, packaging

  4. Style Guide: Documented brand guidelines for consistent communication
